About Us

The King Family
Jared, Laura, Sydney, and Jade

We are an average family joining so many others on the journey to live life to the fullest. For us, that means a tireless pursuit of God and his direction in our lives. No one knows better how to live a beautiful life than our creator, and he tells us how! To steal a tagline from a dear church with which we were blessed to worship, our desire is to work in God's kingdom to restore lives (including our own) to their original purpose and intended beauty. Right now, our eyes and hearts are focused on London.

Jared and Laura met on the first day of school in the fifth grade. It might have been love at first sight had it not been for Laura's bowl cut that made Jared (and everyone else) think she was a boy. We met at 10 and married at 20. We've been married for six years, lived in four different states, and have the two most beautiful and precious girls in the world. We cherish each other and our family more and more with each passing day.

Jared is currently taking his final class in order to complete his MA in Christian Ministry from Harding School of Theology. Right now he works part-time at the Nashville airport and part-time with Ethos as an imbedded church planter. He is a passionate leader and servant, having a natural love for people. He is completely wrapped around the fingers of both our daughters and, along with wrestling with them, tossing them in the air, and playing at the park, he will do anything for them if they just give him a little smile.

Laura works from home for Kairos Church Planting and as a stay-at-home Mom. She recently completed her MA in Ancient History and Archaeology from the University of Leicester in England. She hopes to teach at the college level someday, but having two sweet girls to take care of may have put that on hold for a while. She loves traveling and learning about different cultures (ancient or not). But traveling the world is nothing compared with spending time with her man and baby girls.

Sydney turned three this June. She is tall, energetic, and way too athletic for her age (which means it is no easy task to keep your eye on her). She is a major social-bug; she loved attending a Mother’s Day Out program this spring, and hates being stuck at home with Mommy and Jade all day since moving to Nashville (due to having only 1 car). She is a Daddy’s girl who loves princesses, dogs, friends, and playing outside. She still adores her baby sister and always wants to hold her hand.

Jade (now 17 months) was the most chilled baby I have ever heard of. For a long time Sydney was the only one who could get Jade to laugh (despite Daddy’s constant, but futile attempts). She is still a content toddler, but at least now she giggles and chatters away. Instead of whining or crying, her way to fuss is to give you a stern glare….which of course we think is the cutest thing ever, angering her into a more sinister (and cuter) glare. She loves dolls, books, and her big sister (but she hates Sydney holding her hand).
